


Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Patricia “Pat” Sowada, age 70, of Holdingford, will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Opole. Father David Grundman will officiate and Father Ken Thielman will concelebrate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Patty passed away in the late evening of October 31, 2015 at the Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta. There will be a visitation after 9:30 AM until the time of service Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are being made with Miller-Carlin Funeral Home of Holdingford.
Patty was born on May 2, 1945 to Florian and Helen (Scepurek) Sowada in Little Falls. She was one of five children and graduated from Holdingford High School. Pat worked at Fingerhut in the mailroom for 30 years and then began a house cleaning service that she had for 15 years. She was a simple woman and she loved her alone time, eating out, and shopping. Pat was a great cook and could be found bringing meals and food to those who needed a helping hand. She was loving and considerate, always thinking of others’ needs. Patty was fun to be around, she loved music, was very witty, and always had something to say. Pat was a woman of faith and enjoyed praying the rosary. She was a member of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Opole, where she also volunteered.
Pat is survived by her siblings Carol (Leonard) Cichon, Little Falls; Dave (Marcie) Sowada, Blaine; Stanley (Janice) Sowada, Avon; and other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Florian and Helen, and her brother Roman.

We’ve known Pat for many years…So many memories we have of the good times we spent together with her & Butch..these are memories we will always cherish…Pat was always so considerate and loving towards our family…a joy to be around…. She will be deeply missed by us all..

I am so sorry to hear of Pats passing. She was such a faithful customer of ours and was such a good friend and helpmate to my Mother. I was always impressed by her gentle ways and kindness toward others. She will be missed by all that knew her.
