


Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Mary Eleanor Headley, age 94 of Holdingford will be 11AM Thursday, June 13th 2013 at the Church of All Saints-St. Mary, Holdingford. Father Gregory Mastey will officiate and burial will take place in the parish cemetery following the service. Mary died peacefully in her home Monday evening. There will be a visitation for Mary from 4-8 PM, Wednesday, June 12th at the Church of All Saints-St. Mary and again from 10AM until the time of the service Thursday morning once again at the church. Parish prayers will take place at 7:00PM, and the Christian Mothers will pray the rosary at 7:30PM Wednesday evening at the church. Arrangements are being made with the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home of Holdingford.Mary was born August 16th 1918 to Patrick J. and Mary (Durkin) Casey in Little Falls, MN. She married Elting “Bud” Headley on October 8th, 1941 in Elmdale. After marriage the couple lived in Swanville and Upsala where together they raised their eight children. They eventually settled in Holdingford where they owned and operated Headley Hardware in town. Mary eventually retired in 1984. She greatly enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, playing cards, gardening, and traveling. Mary and Bud spent nearly 30 years wintering in Texas. Most of all she loved spending time with the family and her grandchildren. Mary was a member of the Christian Mothers and a member of the Church of All Saints-St. Mary.Mary is survived by her husband of 71 years, Elting “Bud” Headley, Holdingford; her children, Marilyn Atkinson, Waverly; Yvonne (Dennis) Mueller, Backus; Cheryl (Ted) Skwira, Bowlus; Jerome (Linda) Wyoming; Joseph (Candace Cornelius) Headley, Monticello; Donna (Ken) Berscheid, Long Prairie; Kevin (Nancy) Headley, Holdingford; Deborah (Dave) Hedburg, Elk River; her twenty five grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; her sister Dorothy Brosnan, Crystal Lake, IL; and her sisters-in-law Dolores Casey (Ed’s wife), New Berlin, WI., and Irene Casey (Fred’s wife), Sauk Rapids.She is preceded in death by her parents Patrick and Mary Casey, her siblings Bill Casey, Ed Casey, Phil Casey, Fred Casey, Joseph Casey, Irene Lawerenz, Catherine (Sister Mary Philip) Casey, Leo Casey, her son-in-law Ervin Atkinson, and granddaughter Patricia Atkinson.

Our sympathy to all of you on Mary’s passing. She was such a sweetheart and always had a smile on her face when we saw her. She always remembered us and knew who we were. Our prayers and love to all of you and especially to Bud.
