Theresa Nellie Johannes passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on October 9, 2026.
Born in Minneapolis on February 22, 1949, to Raymond and Emily (Vasecka) Becker.
On July 16, 1966, Theresa married the love of her life, LeRoy Johannes, at Sacred Heart Church in Arban. Theresa met LeRoy through her close friend Mary, LeRoy's sister. Theresa and LeRoy were inseparable, and every hurdle and celebration made them stronger. They embarked on countless adventures together by car and motorcycle—whether taking vacations, spending time with beloved family and friends, or going garage saling.
For 42 years, Theresa's career was at the Holdingford School District, starting as a para and eventually most of her career as a computer technician. She was well known and respected by staff and students. She was an active pillar of her church and community as a lector, a member of All Saints Church, Christian Mothers, the Pioneers Club, and the Red Hat Ladies. She also looked forward each week to playing cards with her close group of friends, affectionately known as "the Six Pack," and monthly Monday night card club.
Theresa brought warmth, generosity, and joy wherever she went. She was an exceptionally talented baker who crafted countless wedding cakes over the years, bringing sweetness to so many celebrations. Her family and friends will forever cherish her caring, nurturing heart and her quick, uplifting sense of humor. Theresa was always actively a part of her children and grandchildren's lives. They meant the world to her.
Theresa’s legacy lives on through her children: Debra Kostreba (David), Keith, Sandra Ross, Lisa Rooney (Pat), and Curt; her brother, Peter Becker; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was reunited in eternal peace with her parents, Emily and Raymond Becker; her beloved husband, LeRoy; her son, Timothy; and her siblings: Owen, Pauline, Raymond, and Ann.
