The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Marie C. Heinen, age 90 of Albany, will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 19, at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in rural Albany. Marie died Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Pondview Estates in Albany with her family by her side. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. There will be a visitation from 4:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 18, at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in Albany, with parish prayers at 4:00 PM. There will also be a visitation one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church, with the Christian Women praying the rosary at 10:30 AM. Arrangements are being made with Miller-Carlin Funeral Homes.
Marie was born August 28, 1935, in Spring Hill Township to Anton and Appolonia (Hiltner) Wolbeck. She lived all of her life in the area. She married Norbert Heinen on October 25, 1969. She and Norbert farmed together until they retired in 1995. Marie enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers, and spending time with her family. She loved doing puzzles and dancing, with a special love for polka dancing. She was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church and the St. Anthony Christian Women.
Marie is survived by her children, John (Lorna) Heinen, St. Joseph; Mary (Rick) Rosen, Albany; Ann (Ed) Willenbring, Richmond; Theresa (Joe) Ritter, Sauk Centre; Rita Lahr, St. Joseph; Darlene (Andrew) Vossen, Litchfield; Marlene (Mike) Seerup, Cottage Grove; 27 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Norbert, in 2013; her sons, Donald and Ronald Heinen; daughter-in-law, Lisa Heinen; son-in-law, John Lahr; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Berg; brothers, Melvin and Elmer Wolbeck; and sister, Leona Lashinski.
