


Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Marie M. Lauer, age 86 of Albany will be 11:00 AM Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. Father Michael Naughton will officiate and burial will take place following the service in the parish cemetery. Marie died early Sunday morning at the Albany Hospital. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Miller-Carlin Brenny Funeral Home in Albany, and again from 10 AM until the time of the service on Thursday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 4:30 followed by Christian Mothers praying at 5 at the funeral home on Wednesday. Arrangements are being made with the Miller-Carlin Brenny Funeral Home in Albany.Marie was born July 6, 1924 to Peter and Catherine (Ritter) Thome. Marie grew up in the Avon area where she got a teachers certificate and taught in many Stearns County schools. She married Ralph Lauer on June 28, 1947 in Avon. After marriage the couple moved to a farm near Farming. When the kids grew older, she went back to school for a teaching degree and taught at Farming elementary School until she and Ralph retired in Albany. Marie kept very busy making beautiful quilts and volunteering at Mother Seton House. She was a member of Catholic Aid, Christian Mothers, and Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany.Marie is survived by her husband Ralph Lauer, Albany; her children Linda (Allen) Reitmeier, Duncanville, TX; Jane (Mark) Jepperson, Fargo, ND; and James (Rose Ann) Lauer, Farming; her 14 grandchildren and 6 2/3 great-grandchildren; her sisters Katie Schoenberg, Cold Spring; and Loretta Hofmann, Kenosha, WI; her brother Peter Thome; and sister-in-law Helen Thome, Avon.She is preceded in death by her mother and father Peter and Catherine Thome, her daughter Janice Lauer, her brothers and sisters Hildegard Dirkes, Marcella Schneider, Aloys Thome, and Albert Thome.
