December 15, 1953 – December 6, 2023
Margie was a remarkable woman whose love for life and passion for the things she cherished illuminated the world around her.
Margie was born on December 15, 1953, in Minneapolis, MN to father James Ralph Prom and mother Mary Ellen (Benoit) Prom and she grew up in the town of St. Cloud, MN. She graduated from St. Cloud Tech High School in 1972. Margie first worked as a Veterinary Assistant, and then later studied Surgical Technology at St. Cloud Technical College. She proudly supported the St. Cloud Hospital Surgery Team for 24 years, assisting in countless life-saving surgeries. Margie will be fondly remembered for her tireless work ethic, selfless nature, and absolute devotion to serving others.
Margie loved nature, finding solace in the Minnesota lakes and woodlands, and taking much joy in her animal companions. Her connection with animals was profound, reflecting a kind and nurturing spirit that touched the lives of both two-legged and four-legged friends alike. Whether it was the gentle nicker of her equine friend, or the loyal companionship of a faithful canine, Margie found comfort in the company of God’s most beloved creatures.
Celebration of joy and friendship was at the core of Margie’s existence. She effortlessly forged deep connections and created a vast community of love and support that will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
Margie was predeceased by her sister Teresa (Terri) Prom, her step-father Marvin Lardy and father James Prom. She is survived by her mother Mary Ellen Prom Lardy, former husband Maynard Hartneck, and their two daughters Kandace (Hartneck) Graunke and Raquel Hartneck. She is also survived by two beloved grandchildren who were a special light in her life.
Please join us in celebrating a woman who embraced life with zest and passion, loved unconditionally, and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. We will forever cherish the memories of her love and the indomitable spirit that defined her.
