


The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Doris Slivnik, age 75, of Rice, will be 10:30 AM Thursday, April 7 at the St. Stephen Catholic church in St. Stephen. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Doris died Monday, surrounded by her family at the Quiet Oaks Hospice House. There will be a visitation from 4-8:00 PM Wednesday, April 6 and again after 9:30 AM Thursday at the St. Stephen Parish Hall. St. Stephen parish prayers will be 6:00 PM. Wednesday evening. Arrangements are being made by the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home.Doris was born April 16, 1935 in St. Cloud to Delos and Alice (Beverage) Staneart. She married James Slivnik on November 3, 1954 in Sartell, MN. The couple lived in rural Rice and Doris was a homemaker raising her 7 daughters. She was a member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church.Doris is survived by her husband, James Slivnik, Rice; her children; Rose (Dave) Blenkush, Violet (Will) Wohlford, Suzette (Dave) Ehlinger, Theresa (Chuck) Mathews, Jennifer (John Justin) Slivnik, Brenda (Gary) Vitale, and Kathleen (Keith) Craft. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Alice Skaja, Mabel Wilhelm, Lucille Schaefer, Wally Staneart, Clarence Staneart, 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her parents and 6 brothers and sisters.A special “Thank You” to the staff at the Coborns Cancer Center and Quiet Oaks Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Coborns Cancer Center or Quiet Oaks Hospice.
